Health Problems Associated in Overweight Kids

More and more children of all ages are overweight than ever before. As a result, weight-related health problems that are typically found in adults are becoming more common in our kids. Overweight children are at risk both for diseases that will affect them in childhood, such as type 2 (previously called "adult-onset") diabetes, and also for health issues that they'll face as adults if they don't lose weight. By reducing your overweight child's weight gain now, or helping him lose weight by eating healthy foods and becoming active, you can lower his risk of developing several serious conditions, including:
Diseases that can occur in childhood, including asthma, breathing problems, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, depression, liver and gallbladder diseases, sleep apnea (cessation of breathing during sleep) and more
Long-term diseases that occur in adulthood, including cardiovascular disease (heart attack, stroke), heart failure, respiratory problems, certain cancers, infertility and pregnancy complications, arthritis, and higher risk for sudden death
Your child's pediatrician can help determine if your child is overweight and which course of action you can take as a family.

Woo Hoo

Yay!!!! Ok so I weighed myself today. In two weeks I have lost 7.5 lbs. 40 more lbs to go!!!! The thing I like is, this time around I have done things different, I have no deprived my of anything. We went to friends house I had pizza, my work had a party I had a sliver of pound cake, went out to lunch with work and ate what I wanted.... You get my point. Basically you can eat what you want in moderations as long as you exercise. The funy thing is I missed a couple days this week with working out but didn't stress. After these great results I now KNOW I can do it!!! Reach my goal by summer. My point is if you miss a workout or to tired don't stress, if you want to eat something while out with friends do it!!! Just remember this is a long term thing so don't set your self up for failure by to much pressure!!!

Victory belongs to the most persevering.

Guilty

So I have a guilty conscious that I only worked out once yesterday. I told myself that I was going to do three workouts a day. It's weird I never use to feel bad not working out. I knew this time was different. I am am so determined this time to make it work. Usually when we go to my family for dinner I eat whatever is there and screw the diet. Not this time, I called ahead of time to make sure they had something we can eat! I also have learned that you can eat anything with moderation. Last night we went to a friends house who we have not seen in a long time and they ordered pizza. I know not good but I had two slices of white pizza loaded with spinach and a diet coke and I was fine.

I know this time is different..... this year I will be in a bikini and looking hot!!!!! So today I WILL DO THREE WORKOUTS!!!!! Maybe more :)

No pain, no gain!!!

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Feel the burn? Oh yes I do! I will admit I was a little skeptical when I heard that in 10 minutes you can get a good workout. All I’ll say now is that I believe!

Ok if I can get up in the morning to workout anyone can. I am so not a morning person, actually quiet the opposite. I got up at 6:30 and pretty much right out of bed and did my first 10 minute workout (well 14 minutes with warm up and cool down). The first one I did was Cardio. It had me breathing heavy in a hurry, it felt great though! Another benefit of working out in the morning, it gave me so much energy to last all day. Then tonight while kids played I knocked out two more workouts. I did Lower Body and Abs. WOW!!!! Again, it was very tough. I kept saying “how can a 10 minute workout hurt this much?” LOL But, I made it through jello legs and all.
As far as eating today, I was hungry. But who wouldn’t be hungry when you go from eating whatever and whenever you want to eating portioned control planned out healthy meals (approximately 1000-1200 calories a day). I will have to get use to it. I keep envisioning my sexy body and that gets me through.

I can’t wait to see results ………

Yo-Yo dieter

So if the first part of knowing you have a problem is admitting it ….I have a problem. Hi my name is Allie and I am a yo-yo dieter. Back in October when I started trying to lose weight( for the millionth time) by using Slim in 6, I started at 179lbs and got down to 166lbs. Well, I suck! Today I am 178lbs. I NEED to lose this weight once and for all.
Tomorrow starts the new me. I can envision myself in the cute clothes, great bathing suits and turning heads!!!! One thing I know is you have to set realistic goals. In past I did not do that, but this time I did. My plan is to be 130 by the Summer. That me 49lbs. Approximately 7.5lbs a month. Which, is very reasonable and attainable.

Watch Me Transform…… it will be beautiful! I will be beautiful! I look as myself as a caterpillar by summer I will be a beautiful butterfly!

New year, new beginings!!!

Wow, so glad to start 2009. A new year and a new beginning! As most of you know I had my fair share of ups and downs in 2008. But let’s not go back to the past …… let’s keep moving forward. I am very excited for 2009, I know this is going to be the year I actually reach my goal weight, the year I learned to not let things bother me. The year, that I finally look out for my happiness, my health and my family. Yeah, that may seem selfish but if anyone really knows me this is something I NEVER do. I ALWAYS put everyone before me. Not this year!!!!! This is my year!

I have a great husband, great kids, great job…..and will soon have a great body. On January 5th I am starting 10 Minute Trainer by Tony Horton. I am actually going to follow his 10 day lean jean diet to start. My plan is to get one 10 minute workout in the morning before work, and one or two when I get home. Instead of letting things bother me like I have done before, I will take my frustrations out healthy way this year ….. by working out! Nothing will stop me, NOTHING!!!

I will try to post often with updates. Watch out by June I will be one hot mommy!
